Every day, families trust us with one of the most important parts of their lives—their retirement. We believe that trust comes with a responsibility to give back to the community that has supported us for so many years.
Whether we're helping a client prepare for retirement, volunteering at a local food pantry, or opening our doors for neighbors during one of our annual community events, our goal is the same: to make our corner of Cincinnati a little stronger than we found it.
Every September, our office comes alive during the Harvest Home Parade. What began as a way to celebrate one of Cincinnati's most cherished traditions has become one of our favorite days of the year.
We open our doors to clients, neighboring businesses, friends, and families for food, fellowship, and front-row seats to the parade. It's our way of saying "thank you" to the community that has supported our family business for so many years.
Over the past several years, the celebration has grown into something even more meaningful. Rather than simply hosting a party, we've chosen to use the event as an opportunity to support local organizations that are making a real difference in people's lives.
Community isn't something we celebrate one day each year—it's something we try to live throughout the year.
One evening each week, our team picks up donated bread from Panera, sorts it, packages it, and helps prepare it for distribution through My Neighbor's Place. Many Wednesday mornings you'll also find members of our team volunteering at the pantry, helping serve local families with dignity and compassion.
We believe healing comes in many forms. That's why we've proudly supported the Hear 2 Heal musical project over the past two years and look forward to helping it continue to grow. We're excited to be a small part of bringing hope, encouragement, and healing to others through music.
Hear 2 Heal (H2H) is a jukebox high school musical featuring the music of Blessid Union of Souls, a multi-platinum alternative rock band of the 1990s. H2H features Eliot Sloan, Lead singer/songwriter of Blessid Union. When the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020 occurred, we adapted the play script to a screenplay to create an independent movie to stream to high school drama teachers at no cost.
The topics below add layers of pressure to teenage life:
* Acceptance * Young Love * Bullying * Self-Worth * Divorce * Suicide * Lockdown
When students perform H2H at their school, the musical offers what mental health experts have identified as a powerful tool to help reduce stress and anxiety. Music and performance arts connect to our emotions, individually and collectively, and has a healing ability for all ages.
H2H began as a concert in 2012 and made an impact in several high schools in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The concert was well received but the teachers requested a turnkey structured program. The students wrote messages of gratitude and stated the concert was life changing.
We have filmed three songs to date. Follow us on Facebook for Sneak Peeks of the film.
At TD Financial and Anchor Financial Group, we believe success isn't measured only by the lives we help prepare financially. It's also measured by the neighbors we serve, the relationships we build, and the opportunities we have to make our community just a little brighter.
We feel incredibly blessed to call Cincinnati home—and we're committed to giving back whenever we can.
